We spend a great of time on and much of our identity is linked to our professions, that when adversity hits it is nearly impossible to not take it personally. It is interesting to apply the concepts explored in the a recent New York Times article to our professional lives and as well as our personal lives.

New research suggests that resilience may have at least as much to do with how often people have faced adversity in the past as it does with who they are or what they’re facing now.
