“You can’t control culture change but a focus on the positive can be trusted to make things better.”~ Gervase Bushe
A focus on the positive can be trusted to make things better, better, not perfect or some ramped up unrealistic image of happiness, but better. A focus on the positive does not equate with hiding from the negative. Instead a prompts us to ask What here is good? What am I grateful for now, from the past and for the future? What do you want more of…?, What is your image of what ____ ought to be that is creating the gap between present and what is wanted?
There is something to be said for focusing on what you want. You’ll tend to find it, or notice the ingredients needed to make it. So focus on the positive, acknowledge the negative, but try not to spent too many of your precious resources of time, emotion, thought and on it. Put your resources towards what you want to cultivate.
